Topic: "Should I take Vitamin D tablets?"

E-mail

An emphatic NO!  The Western medical community is divided into to schools of thought.  One is that Vitamin D protects and cures many things and includes cancer and auto-immune diseases.  The other group says that Vitamin D and Calcium are the root of sickness and disease.  Why are there such opposing thoughts.  I am personally in the second camp and so present only one side of the argument.  We are free to decide what to do with our body until we give this power to the government agencies as is happening with mandatory immunization and public-only health care.  I feel that we must keep our rights and freedoms of choice and make informed decisions.  Here is my longer run down of why we should not take vitamin D.

When we are young we are flexible and energetic.  Over time we age and become more stiff and brittle.  In enough time we develop hardening of the arteries that was once thought to be cholesterol but is now found to be calcium.  The relationship between vitamin D to calcium is that the vitamin causes the body to absorb more calcium.  This higher level of calcium in the body deposit into the soft tissues and we develop joint deformities leading to pain.  The most common sites are the fingers, shoulders, hips and knees where we might suffer from arthritis.  The consumption of excess vitamin D and calcium causes deposits that show up as lesions in the brain.  When in other parts of the body we might call these lesions cysts, tumors, breast tumors, BPH, swollen prostate, cataracts, gall stones, kidney stones and cancer.  In the arteries it is called arthosclerosis.  In the skin it is called psoriasis or scleroderma.  In the brain it can also be called MS or multiple sclerosis.  In the lungs it can be called cystic fibrosis or sarcoidosis.  In the muscles it is called chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia.

Many bacteria are noted to protect themselves with an outer coating of calcium. We ses this as dental and arterial plaque.  Some anti-biotics target these calcium rich barriers.  A common one that we know of is tetracycline.  Often used for acne and rosacea.  This is a natural occuring anti-biotic and has been found in the best preserved skeletins of mummies in the African area near Egypt called Nubia.  These nubian skeletins are found saturated with tetracycline from 2000 years ago.  They also used this medicine for gum disease.  More recently the agent has been slightly modified to become doxycyline and minocycline for treating health issues.  Treating MS and the brain lesions is done with minocycline.

Neuroprotective effect

Minocycline and other tetracycline derivatives have neuroprotective effects unrelated to their antimicrobial properties. Minocycline has the greatest permeability of all tetracyclines through the blood-brain barrier and is well suited for treatment of CNS disorders.

Minocycline can reduce neuronal death after excitotoxicity and ionizing radiation in culture and in animal models of stroke, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. The neuroprotective effects of minocycline have been attributed both to reduced inflammation and a direct effect on neuronal survival.

"Vitamin D Alternative Hypothesis".

There are different types of high blood pressure medications.  One type is called a Calcium Channel Blockers.  There are around 21 brand names of this drug.  It works to reduce the stiffness and hardness of the heart muscle and arteries

Vitamin D3 in high dose will cause hardening of the arteries, high blood pressure and death to a rat in two weeks as rat poison.  Because humans are much larger the dose has to be equally large and so large that we would likely vomit the toxic vitamin D long before death.

Women who take calcium had a 47% higher rate of heart attack, stroke and sudden death. - University of Auckland, New Zealand

An earth worm has powerful calcium pumps to rid their body of calcium just behind their ears.  This keeps calcium low and scientists cannot induce cancer in an earth worm.

Sharks have cartilage instead of the calcified bone and have very low rates of cancer.  The Chinese consume shark fin soup in an attempt to lower cancer rates but humans have calcified bones and the Chinese suffer cancer similar to other cultures.

Women who take calcium have 64% increased risk for hip fracture. - Reuters

The World Health Organization says of the calcium paradox: "hip fracture rates are higher in developed countries where calcium intake is higher than in developing countries where calcium intake is lower (and this) clearly calls for an explanation".

Of the two groups promoting and discouraging vitamin D and calcium supplements there is one fundamental difference.  Sick people need to buy medicines.  The groupe promoting D and calcium stand to earn money if people are less than healthy.  Think about it before making a dicision about what to do with your body.  Remember also that television, cars and elevators are relatively new.  Before the calcium hype we worked hard choping wood, making fires, riding horses and in general we were in better physical condition.  It is possible that exercise is the real key to bone health and not a white pill.
