For most people arthritis begins very slow and at first we are just stiff. This would be more so in the early morning and/or cracky joints that are mostly the knees and ankles.

Through the night many hormones peak and to combat some of the stiffness cortisol is highest from 4 AM until 8 AM. When low we also find that we begin to wake up too early. This is most noticed in elderly people who get up very early. There will be another Topic: hormones that goes through this in more detail.

There are many names given to arthritis.

This is not intended to make any claim nor is it intended to be a diagnosis.  It is my opinion. -- Bryon
