The prostate has many functions in the male; two of them are:
1. Nerve control for male function; erection and ejaculation vs. urination.
2. Immune system for protecting semen and testis from infections.

Younger men have higher rates of bacteria while older men have higher rates of non-bacterial prostatitis. The main problems in older men are anaerobic bacteria and fungi.

The breast, prostate and lungs are derived from the same tissue of the embryo (endoderm). This tissue type is the most common cause of cancer death in men and women. The barrier between the water of the body and the outside is a layer of fatty acids (oil) which are hard to treat when not well.
